Search Engine Optimisation.

Molo is an SEO agency in London that turns organic search into a measurable acquisition channel. We combine technical SEO, content and digital PR to win commercial-intent search terms, the ones people use when they are ready to buy, and we report against qualified enquiries and revenue rather than ranking positions. We work with UK and international businesses selling considered, high-value products and services, including manufacturers, retailers and showroom-led brands whose sale closes offline.

How we work

Organic growth strategy that ranks and converts.

Technical SEO, content and digital PR do three different jobs, and a programme leaning on one of them tends to stall. Technical SEO makes a site legible: crawlable architecture, clean indexation, fast Core Web Vitals, sensible internal linking, correct canonicals and structured data. It rarely creates demand on its own, but it decides whether everything else you do is counted. Content answers the questions buyers actually type, at the depth and specificity that earns the position. Digital PR earns the third-party citations and brand mentions that tell search engines the content deserves to be trusted. Technical work removes the ceiling, content fills the space, and PR raises the ceiling again.

Most SEO underperforms because it targets the wrong words well. A high-volume term at the top of the funnel can bring thousands of sessions and almost no revenue, while a lower-volume term carrying buying intent, a product, a specification, a material, a location, quietly funds the business. We build a keyword universe around margin: what each term is worth if it converts, how many of the people searching it are genuinely in-market, and what it will realistically take to compete. Terms that cannot defend themselves on that basis do not make the roadmap. For Granite Direct, a stone worktop retailer we run SEO, PPC and CRO for, that commercial-intent focus was the difference between traffic and outcomes: 247% organic traffic growth alongside a 188% increase in revenue.

Rankings are a diagnostic, not a result. We report against qualified enquiries and revenue, treating rankings and impressions as the leading indicators that explain the movement. That means the tracking has to be built before the content is: forms and calls attributed to source, enquiry quality scored rather than counted, and search data joined to whatever system holds the outcome: a CRM, a quoting tool, or the record the sales manager actually maintains. Where a client can share closed revenue by source, we work backwards from it. Where they cannot, we agree the closest honest proxy up front instead of defaulting to session counts and calling it growth.

SEO is slow in a specific and predictable way. Technical fixes and on-page work applied to pages that already carry authority can move within weeks, because you are removing friction rather than building trust from nothing. New content on a competitive commercial term usually takes three to six months to settle, and authority-dependent terms in crowded markets take longer. Anyone offering first-page rankings in 30 days is either targeting phrases nobody searches or planning to be gone before the results are due. We plan on a 12-month horizon with quarterly checkpoints, and we would rather show you a flat month honestly than dress it up.

A large share of our clients do not take payment on the website. Granite Direct sells stone worktops through a showroom; House of Signs manufactures signage. When the sale happens across a counter or after a site visit, the search strategy changes. The website's job is to produce a qualified conversation, a template appointment, a survey, a quote request, so specification beats volume: the person searching a material, a thickness, a finish or a lead time is further down the funnel than the person searching a category. Location-modified terms carry disproportionate weight, because a showroom has a catchment. And the measurement problem is real, because the sale closes days or weeks later in a conversation nobody logged. We handle that by scoring enquiry quality at the point of capture and reconciling with the sales team, not by pretending the website closed it.

International and multilingual SEO is a structural problem before it is a translation problem. Correct hreflang, a considered domain or subfolder strategy, market-specific keyword research, buyers in Madrid and Manchester rarely reach for the translated version of the same phrase, and authority that has to be rebuilt per market rather than inherited from the home site. We ran SEO and social for House of Signs, a signage manufacturer expanding into the United States, where that market-by-market approach produced 392% organic lead growth, 8.7x growth in qualified enquiries and a 210% increase in revenue. Where a multilingual site needs building as well as ranking, our web design and SEO teams run it as one brief so the architecture and the search strategy are decided together.

If you are not yet sure whether you have a technical problem, a content problem or an authority problem, start with a diagnosis rather than a retainer. Our free written SEO audit exists for exactly that. The service on this page is the programme that follows it. And because a growing share of searches now resolve inside an AI-generated answer rather than a list of links, we run SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation as one connected system: the same foundations of clarity, structure and genuine authority feed both.

Our Process

A clear path from brief to launch.

We’ve refined this process across hundreds of engagements. It scales from a four-week sprint to a multi-year partnership without losing momentum.

01

Audit

Technical crawl, indexation, on-page setup, content gaps, backlink profile and competitor visibility, plus the commercial terms you should own and currently do not. The output is a prioritised list that separates what can be fixed this month from what needs a quarter.

02

Strategy

A keyword universe built around commercial intent and margin, topic clusters mapped to buying stages, internal-link architecture, a digital PR plan, and the KPIs we agree to be judged on. Delivered as a 12-month roadmap with quarterly checkpoints, not a list of tactics.

03

Implement

Technical fixes shipped in priority order, page templates and content produced against the cluster plan, schema and internal linking applied, and tracking wired so every enquiry carries its source. Nothing gets published before we can measure what it does.

04

Promote

Digital PR, partnerships, industry citations, local signals and reviews. We pursue mentions and links a real person might actually follow, because those are the ones that hold their value as search engines get better at discounting the rest.

05

Report

Monthly reporting against qualified enquiries and revenue, with rankings, impressions and share of voice as the supporting evidence. We show what moved, what did not, what we learned from the difference, and what changes next month.

FAQ

Common questions.

Don’t see your question? Email info@molo.agency and we’ll come back within one working day.

  • How long does SEO take to work?

Expect movement within weeks on pages that already carry authority, and three to six months for new content targeting competitive commercial terms. Compounding growth, the point where organic becomes a dependable share of enquiries, typically shows between months six and twelve. Markets with entrenched national competitors take longer. Any agency promising first-page rankings in 30 days is describing terms nobody searches.

  • How much does SEO cost per month?

Credible UK SEO retainers generally sit between £1,500 and £6,000 per month, with competitive national, ecommerce and multi-market programmes running higher. The variables are how much technical debt the site carries, how much content is needed, and how strong the incumbents' authority is. Below roughly £1,500 a month there is rarely enough time in the budget to do more than publish. We quote a fixed monthly scope after an audit.

  • What is an SEO audit and what does it include?

An SEO audit is a diagnostic review of why a site is or is not ranking. Ours covers technical health, crawl, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, redirects and schema; on-page setup, titles, headings, internal linking, content depth and intent match; and competitor visibility, meaning who currently ranks for your commercial terms and the realistic gap to close. You receive a prioritised action list split into 30-day fixes and a 90-day roadmap.

  • Do you offer a free SEO audit or consultation in London?

Yes. We provide a free written SEO audit for businesses considering search as a channel: a real review by a specialist covering your technical setup, on-page work and competitor position, not an automated PDF from a scanning tool. It is the fastest way to establish whether you have a technical problem, a content problem or an authority problem before committing to a retainer. Request it from our free SEO audit page.

  • Can you guarantee first-page rankings?

No, and neither can anyone else. Nobody outside Google controls the ranking algorithm, and an agency guaranteeing a position is either targeting phrases with no competition or relying on tactics that put your site at risk. What we commit to is the process: a prioritised roadmap, work shipped on schedule, transparent reporting, and honest attribution of what moved and what did not.

  • Do I need SEO if I get most of my work from referrals?

Referrals and search do different jobs. A referral arrives already trusting you; search reaches people who have the problem but have never heard your name. Most referral-led businesses are also being searched for by name, and what a prospect finds shapes whether the referral converts. SEO is worth it if you want growth that is not capped by the size of your network, or a buffer for when a major referral source goes quiet.

  • How do you measure SEO when the sale happens offline?

We instrument the enquiry rather than the sale, then reconcile with your sales team. Forms and calls carry their source, enquiry quality is scored at the point of capture, and search data is joined to whatever holds the outcome: a CRM, a quoting system, or the sales manager's own record. Where closed revenue by source can be shared, we work backwards from it. Where it cannot, we agree the closest honest proxy up front instead of reporting sessions.

  • Can you do SEO for a multilingual or international website?

Yes. Multilingual and international SEO is structural before it is linguistic: correct hreflang, a sensible domain or subfolder strategy, and content researched market by market rather than translated, because buyers in different countries rarely search using equivalent phrasing. Authority also has to be built per market. We ran SEO for House of Signs, a signage manufacturer expanding into the US, producing 392% organic lead growth and a 210% increase in revenue.

  • Should I invest in SEO or Google Ads first?

Paid search if you need pipeline this quarter; SEO if you have runway and want to stop renting your traffic. Most businesses should run both: paid gives fast feedback on which terms genuinely convert, and those learnings direct the SEO roadmap so you are not guessing for six months. For Granite Direct we run SEO, PPC and CRO together, which produced a 188% increase in revenue and 5.3x return on ad spend.

  • Do I need GEO as well as SEO?

Increasingly, though they are not separate programmes. A growing share of searches now resolve inside an AI-generated answer rather than a list of links, and the signals those systems use, clear structure, entity consistency, genuine authority, genuinely useful content, are largely the ones good SEO already builds. We run them as one system. No one can promise placement in an AI answer, but the foundations are shared, so the work is rarely wasted either way.

Emerging discipline

SEO is evolving into GEO

Search is no longer only about ranking in Google. As customers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews for recommendations, Generative Engine Optimisation extends the same foundations, authority, structure and useful content, into AI-generated answers.
